Betty Reed Thompson, age 92, peacefully passed away on Monday, September 21, 2020 in Jacksonville, Florida. Betty was born on February 10, 1928 in Paris Kentucky, to the late Katherine and James R. Reed. She is preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband of 64 years, Chuck. She is survived by her son Mark Thompson (Dona) and daughters Lisa Crosby (Steve) and Kathy Doby (Peter); 7 grandchildren: Katie (Robert), Kara, Mikki (Steven), Cori (James), Press, Graham and Blair; and 9 great-grandchildren: Asa, Otto, Olivia, Nora, Avett, Penny, Ezra, Ender and Sloane.
Betty loved her family and friends unconditionally and will be remembered for her sweet and giving spirit. "Grammie" loved sewing outfits and creating quilts for each new baby born into the family, cooking special holiday dinners, teaching Sunday School classes, and volunteering with Meals on Wheels. She was a member of Deermeadows Baptist Church and worked as a legal secretary for DTU.
