Betty T Smith

Mrs. Smith was born in Fitzgerald, Georgia, July 12, 1935, and moved to Jacksonville in 1954. She was a housewife and a faithful member of Lane Avenue Church of God for 60 years. She was a Sunday School teacher and worked in the Ladies Ministries for many years. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her church and her family. They were the most important things in her life.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, William A. Troup and Lougeania Troup; her husband of 61 years, Robert M. Smith, Sr.; and 2 sisters, Barbara Stovall and Lucile Bishop.

She is survived by her three children, Robert M. Smith Jr. (Alda), Robbie J. Cox (Dino) and Wallace K. Smith; one brother, Dean Troup; one sister, Aline Byrd; ten grandchildren, Karen Davis (Travis), Cheryl Doyle (Kevin), Stevie Stephens (Kyle), Toni Cox, Ben Cox, Zack Cox, William Smith (Angie), Katie Coulliette (Chris), Carrie Halveland (Eric), Kayla Raulerson ( Shane);and twelve great grandchildren, Weston, Savanna, Charlotte, Luke, Hannah, Bryce Connor, Avery, Grace, Sarah, Haley and Owen.

A visitation for Betty will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 5pm to 7pm at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A funeral service will occur on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 11:30am at Lane Avenue Church of God, 2956 Lane Ave. North, Jacksonville, FL 32254. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
