Betty Louise Byers

Betty Louise Byers 85, passed away Tuesday January 19, 2021. Born in Jacksonville Florida in 1935, Louise graduated from Landon High School in 1953. She married Walter Byers in 1954 and they were founding members of Calvin Presbyterian church.

She is preceded in death by her parents Rama & Elizabeth Valentine and her sister Cora Newsome.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years Walter “Sonny” Byers, her son Lewis Byers (Lori), and her daughter Beth Gowen (LaVon.) She was Grandmother to Landon & Logan Byers and Andy (Ashley) and Elyse Gowen.

Louise was very active in her church, over the years she served in many capacities within Calvin as well as the Presbytery of St Augustine. She was a member of the garden club Switzerland, The Red Hat society and loved her Landon High alumni group. She enjoyed staying in touch with all and looked forward to their monthly luncheons.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 26th in Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207, with Pastor Earle Sickle as officiant.
