Beau Yukio Phillips

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Beau Yukio Phillips, a devoted and loving son to his mother and recently passed father, admired brother, and loyal supporter to his family and all those fortunate enough to have known him. Beau’s life was tragically cut short on July 3, 2023, leaving a feeling of emptiness that cannot be filled. He was 43 years old.

Beau was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many with his loyalty, kindness, generosity, and personality. He studied Public Relations at the University of Alabama and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Roll Tide. Throughout his career, Beau made lasting contributions to organizations such as the St. Augustine Lighthouse, St. Johns Chamber of Commerce, and Gentis Solutions. His dedication and talent left a powerful impact on these institutions, and his presence made a difference in the lives of all he encountered.

While Beau achieved professional success, he also possessed a deep love for sports. He was an avid golfer, always ready to tee it up with anyone. His passion on the golf course was contagious, inspiring others with his great enthusiasm. His achievements in golf were a source of great pride, and he brought a sense of team spirit and joy to every game he played. Beau’s one-of-a-kind personality formed deep friendships with those he played alongside.

One of Beau’s most remarkable qualities was his ability to highlight features of a person and make them feel valued and cherished. Beau’s genuine care, support, and infectious laughter brought immeasurable joy to the lives of countless individuals. His kindness and compassion knew no bounds, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Beau will be remembered most by his mother, Mie Phillips, and brother, Hoyt Phillips, who love him and will miss him dearly. His untimely departure will always be felt by his family. As we mourn the loss of this extraordinary person, let us also celebrate the beautiful moments we shared with Beau and the impact he had on each of our lives.

A celebration of life reception will be held on Saturday, July 15, from Noon to 4pm at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Lodge (4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207). All who loved Beau are welcome. Beau's family invites his friends and loved ones to wear their best Beau-inspired golf outfits and bring any pictures or albums they have to help in sharing our cherished memories of Beau. A viewing will also be available in the chapel.
