Walter Malloy Moore and Hassie Gertrude Perry Moore went to her heavenly home March 14, 2016 at the age of 93.
She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Robert T. Bowden, 5 siblings, an infant son, granddaughter Angie Murray, grandson Keith Rogers and two infant grandsons.
She is survived by 4 children: son – Walter T. Bowden, Sr. (Maggie); daughters – Wanda Rogers; Linda Rowand (James, Sr.); Nancy Rosbottom (John, Sr.); sister – Dorcas Ray; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Known as Grandma to most people, she was loved by everyone. Those fortunate enough to have a meal at her home will agree she was an outstanding cook. Her hobbies included gardening, reading and sewing. She was a homemaker and later worked as a seamstress at Harrison Uniform Company. Grandma loved her family and was always delighted in holding the grandbabies. Annie was a member of Wesley Memorial Methodist Church and more recently First Baptist Church of Jacksonville.
Visitation and Homegoing services will be held Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Hardage-Giddens Edgewood Chapel, 729 South Edgewood Ave. Visitation will be at 10:00 am with a service at 11:00. Interment follows immediately at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd.
The family respectfully requests in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to Acosta-Rua Community Hospice, 5450 Ramona Blvd.
