Angelia “Angie” Michelle Dixon, 34, of Jacksonville, Florida, tragically passed away in a traffic accident on December 6, 2024. Born on January 23, 1990, in Orange Park, Florida, Angie touched countless lives with her warmth, generosity, and vibrant spirit.
A proud graduate of the University of North Florida, Angie earned her Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, graduating summa cum laude. She pursued a career in Human Resources at a local Jacksonville hospital, where her professionalism and compassion left an indelible mark.
Angie also dedicated many years to the service industry, most recently at Taverna in San Marco, where her bright smile and genuine care for others created lasting memories for colleagues and patrons alike.
Angie’s greatest joy in life was her family. She is survived by her brother, Lance Katz; her sister-in-law, Sara Katz; and her nephew, Preston Katz. Angie was a devoted mother to her beloved 4-year-old son, Rowan Vieira, and her cherished 15-year-old stepson, Isaiah Vieira. She is also survived by her longtime boyfriend of 13 years, Gil Vieira, with whom she built a life full of love, laughter, and treasured moments.
Preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Virginia Dixon, Angie was inspired by their love and life’s work. She had recently begun her journey to follow in her mother’s footsteps and pursue a career in nursing, a testament to her selflessness and dedication to helping others.
Known for her love of thriller novels, Angie could often be found with a book in hand, immersed in a gripping story. She had a passion for baking, cooking, and hosting joyful gatherings for her many friends, creating an atmosphere of warmth and togetherness wherever she went.
Angie’s light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her. Her kindness, love, and infectious laughter will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Angie on Friday, December 13th at 10:00 AM at Mandarin United Methodist Church, 11270 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223.
