Richard William Belmont (87) of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, passed away Monday, January 18, 2021. Richard was born in South Gate, California, near Los Angeles, to Clarence Belmont and Ruth Metcalfe. Richard grew up in Portland, Oregon and went to high School at Franklin High. He joined the Army and was part of the 82nd Airborne Division during the time of the Korean War. Richard met his wife Ute and was married in 1966 in Heidelberg, Germany. They settled in Ponte Vedra, Florida later in life. Ute passed away in May of 2020. They had two children, Alex and Chris, and he also survived by three grandchildren, Kennedy, Miles, and Hunter.
