Leland "Scott"" Johnson, went home to Jesus , after 5 years of endless battles, always brave, always fighting. He endured a life of Mayo Clinic appointments, being tied to machines, medicines, endless tests and a fight for a new kidney that was never to happen . He fought many battles, life threatening conditions and surgeries with constant pain, but never gave up, his faith , hope or his ready smile
Following surviving, his first major aneurysm surgery and a divorce, moved to Florida to start over in 2011, landing in the Ocala area. By January of 2012 a new job brought him to Jacksonville, Florida and he joined a dating sight to meet new people. February of 2012, we connected because my Granddaughter,Bella Dorsett, "picked him "because "he had a great smile" and he sure did!l It took a bit to get together, however on April 19th, 2012 we planned a meeting at Ale House and well you all know the rest of the story and a great love story it was! For our first 8 years, we lived our best perfect life together. We dated, got engaged, were married , (most fun wedding ever ) traveled, bought a house , a boat and he gave me the best Christmas present ever, Blake Shelton (our westie ) Scott loved all our animals, Blake Shelton our dog and our three rescue cats, DUDE (his cat) Pooh & Bootsie! We were perfect soul mates, blessed to be together and always believed we were right where we were supposed to be . I will always cherish our time here on this earth, grateful for our love & life, a true gift from God.
Scott had many interests: Red , was favorite color ,original bike red, red truck ,wedding colors red; loved both his Harley's and riding with his Hog group, , loved the beach -walking and talking to God country music fan, thrilled when we saw Garth Brooks , Rascal Flatts & Blake Shelton , collected guitars and attempted to play them , enjoyed our boat& boating, especially time spent on the water with his best buddy/brother, Rudy Lee ;also kayaked , tried paddle boarding , had all the gear to look good on the course but never quite embraced golf, enjoyed metal detecting ,fishing, antiquing, but was always happiest creating amazing Christmas light displays that got more elaborate and better each year. He loved holidays and especially Christmas, was my Mr. Christmas-Mr. Fixit, could take apart or put together everything or fix anything, he was so good, at so much
Scott is survived by his loving wife, Linda Dorsett, and all of her family, who loved Scott and became his big Florida family. He is also survived by his Son ,Brian Scott Johnson , Daughter, Amber Lynn Johnson and Brother, Mark Johnson, all of llinois. "Family", all of mine, all of his, including, cousins ,Aunts ,Uncles, brother's spouses ,Linda, Becky & Michelle& friends from across the country were important to him and keeping in touch was always his priority .If you were a part of his life he valued the relationship and you knew it !
