Kenneth Calvert Ryder, 32, passed away November 3, 2012 following a long yet courageous battle with cancer. Born in Freeport, IL, he was a competitive wrestler during his youth and high school years and enjoyed the outdoors lifestyle. He moved to Jacksonville 10 years ago and spent many days at the beach with his 5 year-old daughter.
Preceded in death by his father, Kenneth L. Ryder in 1994, grandmother, Lucille Calvert in 1997 and grandfather Warner Calvert in 2003, he is survived by his precious daughter, Jaelyn Ryder; mother and step-father, Nancy and Bill Basham; sisters, Anya Ryder Bloodworth (Jim) and Noelle Ryder Goeckner (Todd); special cousin, Bryce; Jaelyn’s mother, Maryann Partridge; four nieces and four nephews.
The family will receive friends for a visitation at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6th followed by a funeral service at HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, FL. Interment will follow in H. Warren Smith Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations sent to a trust fund for Jaelyn Ryder c/o Ameriprise Financial Services, 921 Charleston Ave., Mattoon, IL 61938.
