Kollen was my therapist for the last 3 years. I woke up this morning thinking of her and did some searching only to find this obituary. I am absolutely devastated as the last time we spoke she told me she had some health issues and had to stop seeing clients. I had no idea how severe it was. It wouldn’t be like her to complain. I wish I had one more chance to tell her how important she was to me, to my family. She impacted our life and marriage in such a great way. She was a good friend to me and I looked forward to our appointments. I have thought of her often and I will forever miss her smile, her laugh, and her uplifting spirit. She was one of a kind. My deepest condolences to her family. I know how much she loved her husband and son. 

I remember when I had to stop seeing Kollen as my therapist because she said she had a health issue. I didn’t want to pry but I have thought of her many times over the last year. She popped into my head today and I thought I would look her up. When I found this obituary I was crushed. Like many have said here she was a beautiful soul, a kind heart and was such a calming influence in my life. Without her I don’t think I would still be here today, as she guided me through the horrible grief that was my husband‘s sudden passing. She was the kind of therapist I kept hoping I would be friends with in real life after I no longer needed her services. I’m so sad I never got that chance and that other people never got the chance to know her.  I’m sending love light and strength to her husband and son.

I am so unbelievably heartbroken from this. I was one of Kollen’s patients and she made such an unbelievably impact in my life. She helped me get through some of the toughest times in my life. I would not be here today without her counseling. I trusted her so much and I will never find another therapist like her again. She was an amazing and genuinely caring woman and she will be missed immensely. My thoughts and prayers to her family and friends. 

Kollen has been my therapist for the past 12 years. I started seeing her at 14 years old and im now 27. Even when I moved away from Jacksonville, I would call Kollen instead of seeing a new therapist. She helped me through so many tough times. When I learned about her passing, I'll I wanted to do was to set up an appointment with her so I could talk to her about it. I am so sorry to all her family for your loss. Kollen was a beautiful person with a beautiful soul. I will never forget her. 

My fondest memory of Kollen is making up skits, dressing up and recording ourselves. Mrs. Butterworth. Kollen would know what I'm talking about and crack up. We were just silly and never took life seriously. We lived together for a couple of years throughout college. The one house off Pickwick was fun, we danced and laughed ALOT! We stayed up many of late nights talking about her horror stories of being a Social Worker, but she always had a smile and a positive attitude. Kollen is a true inspiration! I will always cherish our time together. 

When I think of Kollen and the fun times we shared I can’t help but to smile and to laugh - those were two things that was a given when with her. We lost one of the great ones, that is for sure. 

We were so very sorry to hear about Kollen. She did fight the good fight. I remember her dancing and can only think of her dancing on a cloud now,free at last of all earthly cares and challenges. Our hearts are with the family at this time.

I was fortunate enough to have practiced next door to Kollen in our private practice. Her laugh will always resonate with me as will her sense of humor, strength and courage to continue to help others as she struggled to stay healthy and alive for her family and friends. She adored her son Nolan and tutored me on how to be a grandma of a little boy. Kollen was always such a pleasure to be around and everytime I enter my office I look to my right and see her office and think of her being right there. She will be very much missed by everyone who knew her

I had the honor of getting to know Kollen when I cared for Nolan in extended day at St. Paul's elc. She was such a sweet , beautiful woman. I had been through cancer and she would ask me about my journey through my treatments. She was so strong and upbeat and an absolute joy to be around.  She had such a beautiful smile and I will always remember her laugh. My heart is breaking for her sweet family. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Gone too soon
