James (Jim) Kenneth Tucker, 72, died Sunday morning, July 15, 2012 after a long battle against cancer. Jim was a lifetime resident of Jacksonville, spending his last 35 years living in the Jacksonville Beach area. He was born in Blairsville, PA, 1940 to the late Guy Cefus Tucker and late Olive Elizabeth Jacobs. He grew up in Jacksonville and attended Englewood High School, he served his country in the US Army and National Guard for 24 years. He was employed by Bell South/AT&T. He retired from Bell South/AT&T in 2007 with 34 years of service. Jim is survived by his wife of 35 years, Loisell Marie Tucker; his son Guy James Tucker; his daughter Pamela Anna Baird; grandchildren – Brayden Tucker, Tyler VanTuin, Jared Tucker, Summer Baird, McKenzie Baird and Aiden Baird; step-father Roy J. Jacobs; sisters Pat Newman and Debra Stambaugh and many other dear relatives and friends.
He enjoyed spending time with his wife, Loisell, and his family pets, watching the Florida Gators and Miami Dolphins, NASCAR and his 1951 Ford Pickup truck, which he refurbished.
A memorial service will be held at Hardage-Giddens, 1701 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250 on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in memory of Jim to Community Hospice at 4266 Sunbeam Rd.
