Curt went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 11, 2012. Curt was born on October 16, 1945 and raised in Miami, Florida and had lived with his wife, Patricia A. “Patsy” Butts-Holzer in Jacksonville Beach for the past five and one-half years. Curt re-affirmed his faith and acceptance of Jesus Christ as his Savior in March 2006. He is pre-deceased by his mother, Emily Jane Holzer who he loved and cared for deeply and his father, Curt Holzer II and his grandmothers, Elizabeth Dreilich Holzer and Emily Godbey. His grandfathers, Curt Holzer, Sr. and Henry Nall Godbey. Curt attended the University of Florida and was on the UF Golf Team. He was a Gator through and through. Curt helped his long and dear friend Jonathan Demme, “Silence of the Lambs” launch his film directing and production career and he also worked as second unit director on films produced by Roger Corman. He worked for twenty years in the medical field helping to launch some of the most advanced technology in medical imaging. His ideas were extremely creative, and his marketing ability was sheer genius according to his good friend, Bill Knight, who had the pleasure of working with him for many years. Curt had the unique experience of having friends that were more like family to him that he knew for forty to sixty years. They were always in touch with each other and loved each other dearly. They are as follows: Bill Knight, Henry Less, Bruce Stern, Burton Horwitz, Jon Sayer and Paulette Griffin. Curt is survived by his wife, “Patsy” and her family, a daughter, Kristen Childers, his brother, Everette Gus Holzer, his sister, Elizabeth Holzer Cryan and his sister, Jacquoline Holzer and many nephews and nieces. There will be a memorial service in celebration of his life at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home on Beach Boulevard in Jacksonville Beach 1pm Saturday, May 5 with Dr. Gabe Goodman officiating.
