Christian “Chris” Ellis, 68, of Jacksonville, FL passed away at home on December 28, 2018. Chris was born in Detroit, raised in Jacksonville Beach and was a longtime resident of Jacksonville. He married Betty Phillips Ellis on April 23, 1983.
Chris was a passionate veteran of the US Army, member of VFW Post 3270, Military Order of the Purple Hearts , and American Legion 283.
Chris was preceded in death by his son, Phillip “Bubba” Harris; brother, William “Billy” Ellis and sister, Sherry Ellis Meister; survivors include his daughters, Jennifer Foster (Bobby) and Heather Ellis Stone (John); grandchildren, Brandon, Breyana, Kiana, Amaya, Kristian Thi, Paige and Kaelani; great-granddaughter, Makenzy; and sister, Lynne Ahrens.
A celebration of Chris’ life will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, Jan 3rd at Arlington Baptist Church with Pastor Joe Newton presiding. He will be laid to rest, with military honors, at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
