Funeral Home North with Dr. Ronnie Wilburn officiating. Mrs.

Rice died. Sunday, October 20

th 2013, at NorthBrooke Healthcare and

Rehab Center after a long illness.

Mrs. Rice was born and raised in Crump, TN. Upon marrying Dan

Robert Rice, they made her home in Jackson, TN where they raised 3

children, Virginia Anne Rice Murphy (Gina), Robert Franklin Rice

(Bob), and Hugh Anthony Rice (Tony). She was a loving wife,

mother, and grandmother. She spent much of her time helping Dan

with the garden from being by Dan’s side during the planting to

teaching the kids and grandkids how to shell purple hull peas to

cooking wonderful meals for her family. She was a member of

Meridian Baptist Church.

Mrs. Rice was preceded in death by her husband, Dan R. Rice and her

daughter, Virginia A. Rice Murphy. She.is survived by her sons,

Robert F. Rice (Jan) of. Memphis and Hugh A. Rice (Martha Lynn)

of Jackson; four grandchildren, Bryan R. Rice (Heather) of Jackson,

April L. Rice Richey (Tom) of Jackson, T. Leighann Murphy of

Worcester, MA, and Jeff A. Rice of Jackson, TN; five greatgrandchildren, Rachel Rice, Nova Rice, Lydia Rice, Jacob Murphy,

and Darcy Rice. She was the last of her generation having survived

her four sisters and all her brother and sister-in-laws. She also leaves

behind several nieces and nephews and their families.

Pallbearers to serve are Bob Rice, Tony Rice, Bryan Rice, Jeff Rice,

April Richey, and Tom Richey.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 5 to 8 pm Tuesday

evening at the funeral home. Burial will take place at. Highland

Memorial Gardens in Jackson following the funeral
