Mrs. Butler was born on April 18, 1931 to Hersie Newton and Lula Hazel Maughmer Barham. She professed her faith in Christ on February 17 1946 at Madison Baptist Church in Madison Hall,TN. Mrs. Butler was retired from the Jackson Madison County Library in 2005 and previously had been with Union University and Sears. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Jackson, TN where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Malcolm Butler; sister, Katherine Lott ; brothers, Howard Kenneth and Vernon Barham; grandson, James Nathan Stoots, nephews; Mike Barham, Kenny Barham and niece, Joyce Barham Harris.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Charles Malcolm Butler Jr. and wife Tonya; daughters and sons in law, Ruth Taylor and husband Mike, Janice Murrell and husband Tim and Betty Stoots and her husband Lynn. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Wm David Stoots and wife Karen, Joshua Taylor, Bethany Taylor Luhrs and her husband Adam, Natalie Butler Scroggin and her husband Cory, Allyson Butler McGuire and her husband Keith, great-grandchildren Della Page and Suzanne Claire Scroggin, Davis Malcolm and Grant Wilson Mcguire; nieces and nephews Robert “Bobby” Barham, Delane L. Pusser, Faye L Plunkett, Suzanne B. Milstead, and Patrick Barham.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday July 8 at 3:30 PM in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with burial to follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery. Dr. Brent Lay will officiate the services. A visitation will be conducted on Sunday from 1:30 PM until the time of the service at 3:30 PM.
