He was born October 30, 1932 to the late Alvin and Audrey Pauline Lovelace in Madison County, TN.
He graduated from Malesus High School in 1950. He entered and served in the United States Air Force for three years. After honorable discharge, he farmed and worked in the grocery business until 1963 when he went to work with American Olean Tile Company until he retired in 1992. He served on the Madison County Commission for 8 years, served as Madison County Volunteer Fireman, and as a board member of Ebenezer Cemetery. After retirement, he enjoyed farming, cattle business, and spending time with his family. He had a special love for antiques and a gift for bringing them to life again. He was an active member of Malesus United Methodist Church and Lamplighters Sunday School Class. T'Howell as he was called, was always early to arrive to enjoy coffee and fellowship with fellow members.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Wanda Jean Harris Lovelace, and two infant sons, Alvin Dewayne and John Brent.
He is survived by his two daughters, Janice Hutcherson (Richard) and Sally Coley (Brian); five grandchildren, Brad Replogle (Chasety), Amanda Replogle, Drew Coley, Sarah Coley, and Ava Coley; two great-grandchildren, Brennan Replogle and Maley Replogle; one sister, Sarah Belle Pruette (Don).
Funeral services for Tom will be held today, Friday, August 14, 2015 at 2 p.m., from Malesus United Methodist Church, with Interment to follow in Ebenezer Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers to serve will be Mike Bailey, Chip Johnson, Michael Morgan, Don Pickens, and grandsons, Drew Coley and Brennan Replogle. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Franklin Hudson, Randal Tosh, Buddy Branch, and Bill Ward.
The family will receive friends today, Friday, August 14, 2015 from 11 a.m. until the time of serve at the church.
Memorial contributions in Tom's memory may be directed to Malesus United Methodist Church or Lester's Chapel Methodist Church.
