His humor kept me going may days with all the work pressure we live with. 
I have many memories of some trips with Sammy and many dinners. 
I learned more about food from Sammy than I probably needed to know. 
We were lucky to win a company cruise and enjoyed being on the same trip.

I am so sorry to hear about Sammy's passing.  I first met him 7 years ago when I was calling on him as he was the bread buyer for Checkers.  While he was passionate about his work, that did not compare to his love for the Volunteers.  I was fortunate enough to get to go with him to a TN vs FL game in Gainesville.  While the results were not what we wanted, it was a great trip overall.  He will be greatly missed.

Sammy was always happy.....smiling.....
Kind....smart..... loved his family.....wonderful person.....heaven bound....

Sammy was a good friend and Sig Ep fraternity brother. He and I were a team as he was chapter comptroller when I was president.  He was smart, always enthusiastic, and had a smile on his face.  He was a critical in improving chapter finances, but most importantly, Sammy was a friend, counselor and a bright light.  My warmest condolences to your family.

As one of Sammy's vendors, I always loved calling on, talking to, or hanging out with Sammy.  He always had a smile and a warm greeting.  He loved people and it showed.  I will miss him.  

Sam and I were neighborhood pals growing up. We howled at MAD magazine and sneaked looks at Playboys. Played a thousand games of chess and shot each other with BB guns. He even tried to teach me Hebrew before his Bar Mitzvah,  which I remember well. I have such fond memories. It was a fab time and place to grow up. RIP Sammy, we had a blast..

Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of a great man.  I  had the pleasure to work with Sammy during his reign at Checkers/Rally's.  Many great laughs and  memories  with Sammy.  He was a great work partner and will be sadly missed. Rest in peace Sammy.

I had the pleasure of working with   Sammy for many years, he was a customer of ours in the Checkers/Rally world.  What a great man, such a joy to work with. We shared many laughs and many ballroom dances at the CR Conventions.  Loved his southern charm and mannerism.  Sammy, my friend, may you rest in peace.  Prayers and condolences to his family and his  Checkers family as well.

Being in the foodservice industry for almost 20 years, I always ran into Sammy at different industry events like the NRA or Market Vision.  I always remember him sitting at the front of the class and always with a smile on his face.  He definitely was a character and I know made an impression on so many of us.  He will be surely missed. 

I had the pleasure of working with Sammy at the Checkers Office for the past 4 years.  There was never a day that he did not have a smile on his face and a warm greeting - "Every day is a Holiday".   He was a very special man who will be missed by all who knew him. 

I was one of Sammy's Suppliers and have been calling on him for the past 15 years.  Sammy was a tough buyer but yet a very kind and caring person.  He always had a cheerful attitude and  I enjoyed working with him.  He always put a smile on my face with his one liners.  Every time I called him he greeted me with "Every Day's a Holiday".  Rest in Peace Sammy!  We will miss you!

Sammy was a blessing!  He had an uncanny ability to make everyone laugh with his funny one-liners.  I had the privilege of working with him (as a supply partner) over the past 15 years.  The funny thing about this is that it didn't feel like a typical Buyer/Supplier relationship ever.  It felt as if friends were conducting business.    RIP my friend.
