Mike was born on January 3, 1955 in Savannah, Tennessee, the son of the late William Patrick (Pat) Wills and Patricia (Patsy) Lay Wills (Memphis, TN). He attended Ridgeway High School in Memphis and Lambuth University in Jackson. Mike worked many years in data processing and accounting with Tennessee’s local governments and school systems. Following his retirement he worked in sporting goods retail at Great American Sports.
Mike will be remembered for his dry wit and loyal friendship to many. He loved sports, cooking, the river, and most of all his family. He dedicated many years to coaching Dixie Youth, USSAA, and Fall League baseball.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 29 years, Jean Jacocks Wills; his son, John P. Wills both of Jackson; and his mother, Patsy Wills of Memphis. He also leaves two sisters Beth Hendrix (Robert) of Marietta, Georgia and Susan Earp (Scott) of Huntsville, Alabama; as well as 4 nieces and 2 nephews.
Funeral Services for Mike will be held on Monday, April 27, 2015 at 11 a.m. at North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home with interment will be at Allen Baptist Church Cemetery, 5533 US Highway 79 N. Brownsville, TN.
Visitation will be on Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 5-7 at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home.
Memorial Contributions in Mike's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, or Englewood Baptist Church.
