Mary Jo Odle

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 3 p.m. from the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with Rev. Drew Brewer and Rev. Maurice Hays officiating. Interment will follow in Nebo Cemetery in Henderson County, TN.

Mrs. Odle was born on June 3, 1924 in Henderson County, TN to the late Joseph and Vera White Anderson. Mary worked as a seamstress in retail for most of her life. She was a very active member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church. Family was very important to Mrs. Odle. She devoted her life to loving and caring for her husband, children, and grandchildren. She enjoyed quilting, sending cards to shut-ins, and helping the Reelfoot Rural Ministry. She was also a member of the Order of The Eastern Star.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Odle was preceded in death by her husband William Hermon Odle, Sr. who preceded her in 1997; an infant son, Billy Joe Odle in 1946; four brothers, B.D. Anderson, A.D. “Pug” Anderson, Bill Anderson, and Harold Anderson; and one sister, Irene Olds.

She is survived by her son, Hermon Odle, Jr. of Jackson; a daughter, Kathy Brantley (Johnny) of Jackson; two grandchildren, Mary Brantley Emison (Jay) and Will Brantley both of Jackson; and one great grandson, Noah Emison.

Visitation with the family will be held on Monday evening, January 5, 2015 from 4-7 p.m. in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
