Mary Birdeen James McDaniel

She was born on April 9, 1928 in Henderson County, TN to the late David Wilford “Baudy” James and Hester Bishop James. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and homemaker throughout her blessed adult life. She devoted her life to God, family, and friends and welcomed all with loving arms and never knew a stranger. She had a smile, a laugh, and personality that attracted everyone she came in contact with. She would try her best to round up a little something everytime anyone and everyone would visit her home. She will forever be remembered and greatly missed by her children and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Lee McDaniel; two brothers, O B and Shiley; and four sisters, Susie, Berthie, Hattie, and Carrie.

She is survived by her seven children, Mickey McDaniel (Donna) of Henderson TN, Bonnie Knight (Vernon) of Jackson TN, Joe McDaniel (Donna) of Lexington TN, Timmy McDaniel (Sheila) of Henderson TN, Anthony McDaniel of Jackson TN, Jeff McDaniel (Alicia) of Darden TN, and Judy Robinson (Randy) of Henderson TN, ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. 

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 5-8 p.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 12 noon at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with Pastor Curtis Howard and Pastor Cliff Walker, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
