He was born on July 1, 1933, in Beech Bluff, Tennessee, to the late John Lee Wadley and Mary Lou Patrick Wadley. On September 25, 1955, Kenneth married Paula Taylor Wadley, sharing many loving years together. He was also a devoted member of the South Jackson Church of Christ, where he found community and faith. Kenneth dedicated his life to hard work and service, having been employed by the Illinois Central Railroad, Consolidated Aluminum Corporation, and Watlington Brothers Construction before retiring from the Jackson Madison County School System.
He had a passion for hunting and was an avid supporter of all University of Tennessee sports, particularly football and basketball. One of his greatest joys was watching his grandchildren participate in sports, always their enthusiastic cheerleader.
Kenneth's life was marked by his dedication to his family, his work, and his many passions. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his siblings, Wayne Wadley, Billy Wadley, and Nell Briley
He is survived by his devoted wife, Paula Taylor Wadley of Jackson; children, Keena Middlebrooks (David) and Keith Wadley (Amy); grandchildren, Matthew Middlebrooks (Amy), Erin Mitchell (Clayton), Taylor Wadley (Jayme), and Ty Wadley (Jesslyn); and his six great grandchildren, Sawyer and Jon Middlebrooks, Macy and Peyton Mitchell, and Tyger and Bryce Wadley.
A service to celebrate the life of Kenneth Wadley will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 1:00 pm at The South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with Ray Pack and Matthew Middlebrooks officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Springs Cemetery in the Deanburg Community of Chester County. The family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m., two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Mr. Wadley’s memory.
