He was born on January 4, 1929 in Blytheville Arkansas to the late Riley Houston and Dinzle Fuller Eason. John was raised and attended school in Henderson County along with 9 siblings on a small farm. He was taught how to work as a carpenter by his father and went on to a career as a construction superintendent. He built banks and financial institutional buildings throughout the south and midwestern United States, while still maintaining a primary residence in Jackson with his wife and family. John had a charismatic personality that never seemed to know a stranger. He loved and experienced life to the fullest, telling jokes, playing harmonica, and moving to music.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Wilma McCaslin Eason; three brothers, Rudolph, Jerrold, Charles; four sisters, Freddie Hardy, Onita Phipps, Jeanette Swindle, and Margaret Vandergrift.
He is survived by five sons, Gary Anthony Eason (Debbie), Ricky Lynn Eason (Annette), Mickal Andrew Eason (the late Pamela), Myron Oneal Eason (Virginia “Ginny”), and Ryan Alan Eason (Lisa); 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren
He is survived by two sisters Carol Tyler (Harold) and Mary Looney (Johnny); and two sisters-in-law, Lavern Eason and Mary Eason.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Monday, December 12, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with burial in Highland Memorial Gardens.
