Jerry Austin Byars

He was born on December 5, 1936 in Brownsville, TN. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years and with ESI for 20 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Steve Threet.

He is survived by his loving wife Louise Byars of Jackson; three children, Jerry Lee Byars, Julie Appleton, and Diane Schull; three stepchildren, Penny James, Fred A. Threet III, (Kim) and Dana McKellar (Phil); 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Byars.

A memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 4 p.m. in the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. Interment will be held privately in Big Springs Cemetery in Medon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or LeBonhuer Children’s Hospital.
