She was born on April 18, 1923 in Jonesboro, AR to the late Albert S. and Edith Pewitt McCarty. She married Olen Farrar and they moved to Jackson in 1944. She was a longtime retail sales associate for Nathan’s, Kathleen’s, Signature’s and ended her career working for The Highlander.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Olen Farrar; and her two brothers, Albert R. McCarty and Paul E. McCarty.
She is survived by her son, Danny Farrar of Cordova, TN.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 13, 2023 from 12-1 p.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Bro. Dan Bruce officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to First Baptist Church, 1627 North Highland Ave., Jackson, TN 38301.
