Colten was born on May 29, 1992 in Jackson, TN to Dian Millinder Blankenship and the late Dale Blankenship. He was a wonderful father, son, brother, uncle, and friend to all who knew him. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, off-roading, and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by grandparents Ruth and Coy Blankenship and John Millinder.
He is survived by his children, Remington and Ava Blankenship; his mother, Dian Blankenship; brother, Wayne Blankenship and wife Carissa; his two nieces Lauryn and Addison Blankenship; his sister/cousin, Peggy Johns and husband Chris, his two nephews/cousins Zane and Caleb Johns; the mother of his children, Whitney Gahagan; as well as many friends that were like brothers and sisters to him. Colten also leaves his beloved dog, Tucker.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, April 19, 2023 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 1 p.m. at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with Bro. Opie Dodrill officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Bluff Cemetery.
Active pallbearers to serve will be Shawn Attaway, David Cross, Isaac Billington, Cody McKinney, Shane Gullett, Coty Trimmer, Eric Bryant, and Tim Simmons. Members of Colten’s Crew are asked to sit together as a group at the service.
