Mr. Pickel was a longtime homebuilder in the Hinds County area and was a member of Jackson Homebuilders Association. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member Karnac Hunting Club and Honorary member of Jackson Bass Club. Mr. Pickel was a member of Clinton First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Peggy Hailes Pickel; daughter, Allison Pickel Lyles and her husband Kevin; two grandchildren: Paul Walker Lyles and Ashton Grace Lyles; two nephews, Clay Hailes and Gene Wilson; one niece, Ann Easterwood; other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be at Lakewood Funeral Home Friday, July 8 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Saturday, July 9 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. The service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9 with interment to follow in Lakewood Memorial Park.
