Mary Louise McClung Sprinkle, age 91, of Jackson died Sunday November 21, 2010 at the Arbor Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. Services will be Tuesday November 23, 2010 at 3:00 PM at Wright and Ferguson on Highland Colony Parkway, with visitation from 1 to 3 PM prior to services.
Mrs. Sprinkle was born March 2, 1919 in Tyrone, Georgia and moved to Vicksburg, MS in 1942 where she and her husband George McClung owned and operated the Ready Mix Concrete Company for 25 years before his death. 1942. She then moved to Jackson in 1975 and was bookkeeper for the Easter Seals Society of Jackson from 1977 until her retirement in 1994.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Griffin Sunday School class, The Joy Group and a lifetime member of the U.M.W. She enjoyed all the services at Christ Church, especially the Wednesday night Celebration Service. She and Paul Sprinkle met in the Griffin Sunday School Class and were married in 1992. They have enjoyed traveling and being involved n other church activities.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George McClung, Sr., a son, Rev. George McClung, Jr., a grandson, Shep Case, her parents, Joseph Earl and Fannie Mae Duke, five sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include, her husband, Paul Sprinkle of Jackson; two daughters, John and Ellen (McClung) Case of Oxford, MS; Dianne McClung Davis of Grenada, MS; daughter-in-law, Shirley Dean McClung of Brandon, MS; eight grandchildren; Mark Case and Rose of Franklin, TN; Renee (Case) and Keith Moore of Oxford, MS; Paul Case of Durango, CO; Joey and Donna (McClung) Thornton of Brandon, MS; Paul and Debby (McClung) Trott of South Carolina; David McClung of Brandon, MS; Stephanie and Terry Myers of Batesville, MS; Michelle and Steve Rice of Grenada, MS; ten great-grandchildren: a sister, Sarah Ann Jones of Carrollton, GA. Also, the daughter of Paul Sprinkle, Sherry and Rick Dallas of Madison and her daughter, Barbara and Scott Cunningham of Madison, MS and their children, Ava Grace and Dallas. As well as a host of nieces and nephews.
The officiating ministers will be, Dr. John Case, Reverend Vickie Landrum and Reverend David McIntosh. The pallbeares will be, Mark Case, Joey Thornton, Rick Dallas, Steve Rice, Terry Myers, Keith Moore, Wesley Moore, and David McClung.
