Margaret Sipes Hensley of Clinton, Mississippi died at her home on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 98 years of age. She was born on February 18, 1919 in Conway, Arkansas and grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas where she attended Little Rock Central High School. She attended Ouachita University and later married J. Clark Hensley. They lived for several years in Nashville and Pulaski, Tennessee and moved to Jackson, Mississippi in 1957. They were married for sixty years until his death in 2007. The daughter and wife of Baptist ministers, Margaret was active in church activities all her life including teaching, seminar leadership and authorship. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and was an avid reader of all types of fiction, holding a special interest in British novels, movies and television series. Margaret is survived by sons Clark Hensley of Clinton, Mississippi and Dana Hensley (Rinne) of Brentwood, Tennessee and three grandchildren: Kelly Watkins Vernon of Birmingham, Alabama, Evan Hensley of Nashville, Tennessee and Cameron Hensley of Laguna Niguel, California. A remembrance gathering will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 9.
