He worked various jobs throughout his life, but he retired from Tri-State Brick and Tile, where he held several different positions. He also served in the Mississippi National Guard.
He loved telling stories. You never knew if they were real or if he made them up as he went along. He had a great sense of humor. He could make you laugh in the toughest situations. He had the most amazing singing voice and loved singing along with the radio, record player, or cassette tape player. Among his many talents was his ability to cook. He would come up with what we called “concoctions” that were always delicious.
As a father, Jimmy was kind, caring, and compassionate. He never made promises lightly, understanding circumstances could change. His love for his daughters, Kim Waller (also known as “Little Kimmie” or “L.K. ") and Kelly LeMay (also known as “The Favorite One” or “T.F.O.”), was unwavering. He was a role model, imparting valuable life lessons not only to his girls but also to other members of his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughters Kim Waller (Scott, whom he called his son) and Kelly LeMay; his grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Rooper”, Brittany LeMay Bedard (Justin), Shane Waller, Christopher LeMay, and Blake LeMay; his great-grandchildren, Avery Bedard and Linley Bedard; his best friend, Beverly Leigh; and his beloved boy Cat Man Do.
The family would like to thank everyone at HomeCare Hospice for their love and support of Jimmy, everyone at Ridgeland Place where he called home for the past four years, and the staff at Highland Home.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Lakewood Funeral Home, followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. at the Pavilion.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Webster Animal Shelter or the charity of your choice.
