Jack Gibson Moss, 67, passed away on October 12, 2023. Jack Moss was born September 1, 1956 in Raymond, Mississippi as the son of Joseph Gibson and Permelia Joy Moss. He graduated from Raymond High School, Hinds Community College, Mississippi State University, and University of Mississippi School of Law. After graduation, Jack lived and practiced law in Raymond, Mississippi for the entirety of his adult life and served as an alderman for the town of Raymond for 26 years. Also, Jack was a member of the First Baptist Church of Raymond, serving as a deacon and a trustee.
Jack served Ducks Unlimited for over thirty years, selecting the work distributed by Ducks Unlimited. During his thirty year tenure, Jack served as the Mississippi State Chair, the Regional Vice President, and was active on the Emeritus Board. Jack was responsible for the founding of the Ducks Unlimited Chapter in Raymond, Mississippi. Alongside Ducks Unlimited, Jack combined his love of Civil War History and Art to paint and arrange Civil War battles and dioramas. This passion led him to be General within the Friends of Raymond, contributing to the restoration of the Battle of Raymond field.
Jack is survived by his brothers, Joe and Judd Moss, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Jack will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Raymond Cemetery, Raymond, MS.
