Visitation will be from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm Wednesday at Lakewood Funeral Home on November 16, 2022. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Lakewood, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 am before the funeral service.
George was born in Butte, Montana, on December 12, 1948. He was a resident of Clinton, MS, for over fifty years and a founding member of St John’s United Methodist Church, where he attended for over forty years.
George Lee was a veteran that proudly served his country and received two purple hearts for his tours during the Vietnam War. He then went on to become the Post Commander for the VFW Post 3685 and enjoyed his time as a loyal member of the Wahabi Shriners.
George always loved sharing stories and a good home cooked meal. His quick-witted sense of humor and homemade gumbo will be deeply missed by many.
He is reuniting in Heaven with his wife Jan Lee. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Sherrye Dotson. He is survived by his son, Jimmy Lee (Dana) of Clinton. His two grandchildren, Anna Lauren Lee and Tanner Lee, both of Clinton. Two brothers, John Lee (Judy) of Florence and Bill Wyche (Marie) of Jackson, TN. He also left many loving nephews, a niece, and one precious fur baby, Sassy.
