Elias Jonce (EJ) Williams III, 87, of Clinton, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. Born in Vicksburg, MS, EJ was an Eagle Scout and graduated from Carr Central High School. He graduated with a business degree from the University of Missouri at Columbia. EJ's professional life was marked by a successful career in food service management. Following his retirement, he pursued his passion for collectibles and literature as a flea market vendor and online bookseller. A lifelong sports enthusiast, EJ was an avid fan of the Mizzou Tigers and the Atlanta Braves.
EJ was preceded in death by his wife Judy, his brother, Sidney Williams, and sister, Susan Embry. He is survived by his son, Steven Williams, daughter, Sara Roy (Don), and three cherished grandchildren, Chris Roy, Sidney Roy (Emilia), and Ethan Roy. His presence will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, and cousins, with whom he shared countless joyous moments and Williams family reunions, an event he dearly loved and looked forward to attending.
The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating EJ's life. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 24, from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Boulevard, Jackson, MS. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Lakewood Memorial Park.
In memory of EJ, the family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a charity that was special to him. EJ's legacy of kindness, his passion for life, and his enduring love for his family and friends will forever be remembered and cherished.
