With love and cherished memories we announce the peaceful passing of Dorothy Nell "Dot" Griffing on November 11, 2024. Dot was born on February 18, 1934 in Benton, MS to Charlie and Laura Warren. She spent her childhood in Carthage, MS and moved to Jackson when she was in the 10th grade and attended Central High School.
Dot was married to Paul for 63 years.Together they owned and operated Oak Forest Auto Parts from 1969 until retirement in 2000. Dot learned the car parts business and could help most anybody that came in the store. After retiring, they moved to Pelahatchie and lived there until 2019. She was a woman of deep faith and very active in McDowell Road Baptist Church until it closed and later in Pelahatchie Baptist Church.
Dot had a joyful spirit and loved to dance. Sunday lunches were the best with her homemade rolls and strawberry cake. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she cherished every moment spent with them.
She is preceded in death by her parents,her husband, Paul R. Griffing; sisters, Helen Casaver, Polly Brooks, Charlene Chamblee and Maurice Williams.
She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Flowers (Alan); Cathy Gardner (Sam); grandchildren, Chase Flowers, Regan Flowers and Peyton Simon; her brother, Charles Warren (Doris). Also, numerous nieces and nephews.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Parkway Health and Rehab for the compassionate care provided during her final days. We also want to thank the staff at Madison Home Place for the special care that she has received this past year.

A pavilion service for Dorothy will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Lakewood Memorial Park, 6000 Clinton Blvd., Jackson, Mississippi 39209.
