Christine Hartwig Jones

Christine Hartwig Jones, age 73, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024 in Austell, Georgia. Chris was born in Madison, Wisconsin, on May 12, 1951, the beloved daughter of Gilbert and Anita Hartwig. She spent most of her life in Mississippi, before relocating to Atlanta with her husband to be near her son and his family.

Chris was a loving wife to her devoted husband, Ken, and a proud and supportive mother to her son, Tim. She is survived by her husband, Ken; her brother, Geoffrey; her son, Tim; and her grandchildren, Jacob, Rowan, and Alexandria.

Chris graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a BS in Medical Technology. She pursued a career in this field at several hospitals in Jackson, Mississippi. She would go on to share that this was a way to fund summer vacations with her family. The travel was a source of joy for her family, and with her death, a source of fond memories. In addition to travel, Chris had a deep love for reading, listening to music, and the family dogs, but above all, she cherished time with her family. She will be remembered for her warm heart, generous spirit, and her calm and gentle nature.

Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service on December 20, 2024, at 2 PM at Lakewood Memorial Park, 6000 Clinton Boulevard, Jackson, Mississippi to celebrate her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
