Charles Amos Stacy, Jr., 86, passed away Saturday May 4, 2013 at home. Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday May 7, 2013 at Christ United Methodist Church preceded by visitation at 9:00am. Burial will be in Parkway Memorial Cemetery.
Charles was born September 4, 1926, along with twin sister Cornelia in Choctaw County, MS to Charles A. Stacy and Dora Frazier Stacy. He was a graduate of Holmes Community College and a veteran of the US Navy. In 1956 he was co-founder and President of Capitol Hardware Inc. where he served until his retirement in 2008.
He was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir, was a member of the Griffin Sunday School Class and sang bass in the quartet "Testament". He always loved a joke and had a song in his heart.
Charles was a member of Colonial Country Club where he enjoyed playing golf. He sang in the Barber Shop Quartet- Magnolia Chorus and was a member of SPEBSQSA.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Jean Frazure Stacy; sons, Charles (Suzette),Frazure (Lea Anne) and Larry (Sissy); 9 grandchildren, Matt, Reed, Katie McDaniel, Mason, Tyler, Anna Regan, Emily, Ann Louise McNamara, and Cole; sisters, Clara Foran, Irene Biddle, and Ramona Weaver; and 5 great-grandchildren, Carter, Caroline Reed, Ryan , Stafford and Mae.
The family makes a special thanks to The Orchard, The Arbor, Hospice Ministries and Brenda Kyle for the loving care provided to their husband and father.
