I, the Honorable Judge Victoria Lee Enyart, adjourn myself from this life on Monday, October 7, 2024 and am on to my next grand adventure. I was born on November 18, 1948 in Jackson, Michigan to Patricia & Charles Ratcliff, who preceded me in death. I am the oldest of six children who all survive me.
The greatest treasures in my life call me Nana Keke; Harley Olivia and Doryanne Patricia Grace. I am Great Nana Keke to my Wild Ones; Zoe Alexis, Silas Arthur and Roland Artorious. My first treasures are my children; Andrea (Scott) Rice, Donovan (Amber) Enyart and Cary Stiles. And my BFF of 44 years Cathy Wixom. I love you all endlessly.
I have traveled the world and seen many beautiful places. The beach, with a good book and sand between my toes, will always be my happy place. Throughout my life, I have had many hobbies - too many to name - but my favorites are gardening, creating stained glass artwork, sewing and embroidery.
For most of my life I have been a property tax assessor and appraiser; I began my career in 1977. I belonged to a multitude of assessing organizations, served on various committees, held offices, taught continuing education classes and received various awards and recognitions. I take great pride knowing my daughters are second-generation assessors and that my granddaughter is a third-generation assessor.
I was a State of Michigan Tax Tribunal judge for 20 years; the longest-serving MTT judge in State history. I was honored to have been appointed, and reappointed, by every governor from John Engler to Gretchen Whitmer.
A special thanks with gratitude to Ani and D for giving up their lives these last months to provide total care for me; and thank you to Cary for the nachos and reality television. Thank you to Dr. Pappas and her team at Trinity Health. Thank you also to Elara Hospice and Nurse Sarah Avery for all of their care and kindness. A Big *%#! to ALS!
My family will receive friends at Burden & Patience-Montgomery, 1806 E. Michigan Avenue, Jackson, Michigan on Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. for visitation; followed by a Celebration of my life at 1:00 p.m.
