A lifelong resident of Jackson MI., passed away at the age of 86 in the loving care of the staff and volunteers at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home after a long illness. Sarah was born to parents Clifford and Lulu Mae Bodman in Jackson MI. She graduated from Jackson High School and retired from Sears after working there for many years. Prior to this, she worked for Bell Telephone Company. For many years she served as a Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital Volunteer and was very active as a member of Bethel Church where she was blessed with many close friends who love the Lord and loved her. Sarah served her church family visiting shut-ins and serving in various programs including Divorce Recovery and AWANA ministries. Sarah loved playing Skip Bo, reading John Grisham books, and listening to Christian music. Sarah is survived by son; Michael R. Howell, daughter Kathy (Chris) L. Arnold, granddaughters, Kristen (Patrick) O. Wurth, Kylee (Brandon) H. Barker,and her sisters Janice Patterson, Mary Lou Bodman, Patti Goe, and many beloved nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jackson Police Sgt. Robert D. Howell her siblings, Richard Bodman, Benjamin Bodman, Helen (Max) Ward and Phyllis (Ralph) Thomas. A celebration of Sarah’s life will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 11:30am at Bethel Baptist Church (1691 Springport Rd. Jackson) with visitation from 10:30am until time of service. There will be private burial at Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home or Bethel Baptist Church.
