Of Jackson, Michigan passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025 at Henry Ford Hospice House surrounded by her loving family. Joanne is survived by her sister Jean Ritter and brother Wally Thayer, sons Stephen (Buffy) Skalski and Michael (Lisa) Skalski, her grandchildren Rebecca Dailey, Aaron (Jessica) Dailey, Madison Skalski and Jason Fitzgerald, great-grandchildren, Reaghan, Harper, Leo Dailey and Maverick Fitzgerald. She was preceded in death by her parents Dr. Earl Thayer and Evelyn Thayer, her husband Tom and her daughter Marie Fitzgerald. If you were blessed to know Joanne, you know she entertained beautifully, surrounded by the ones she loved. Her smile lit up the room and a good time was always had by all. Joanne was a lifelong Michigan fan and loved all of her fuzzy animals. Rest now, dear one, in God’s loving arms, where there is no pain or sorrow, and know that you’ll always be with us, in our hearts, today and tomorrow. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Hospice House for the loving care. Per Joanne’s wishes there will be no service or visitation. Donations can be made to the Cascade Humane Society in her memory.
