Of Homer, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the age of 63. He is survived by his wife, DorEtta Riddle; two sons, James E. Riddle, Jr. and Carlos (Molly) Riddle; one grandson, Holden Riddle; as well as siblings, Frederick (Jill) Riddle, David (Brenda) Riddle, Vern (Ruth) Newland, Larry Newland, Shirley (Tim) Smith, Brenda (Anthony) Atchison, and Sally (Russel) Booth; many nieces, nephews, loving family members, and friends. James was a hard worker who loved and took care of his family the best way he knew how. He was proud of his two sons and always wanted a life for them that was better than his own. He loved walking and being outdoors, but his true love was singing. He was known by the nickname of Elvis by many of his friends and co-workers. He would sing at any given opportunity and loved to karaoke on Friday nights. James was thrilled in 2012 when his first grandson, Holden, was born. James was proud of Holden and would show off his picture at any opportunity. After working nearly forty years at Albion Industries, James always looked forward to a happy and healthy retirement with his wife, DorEtta. Even though James struggled with his illnesses at that end of his life, it never changed his true desires for his family; James always desired to have a family that was well loved and taken care of. James did that throughout his life the best way he knew how, and to the best of his ability. A celebration of his life will be held at New Hope Worship Center (Albion, Michigan) on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.
