On Sunday, October 6, 2019, Iris Zieger, loving wife and mother of three children, passed away at the age of 95. Iris was born on September 4, 1924 in Keyser Township, DeKalb County, Indiana to William and Ruth Shull. She graduated from Chicago City Junior College, Wilson Branch, on June 17, 1947. On January 29, 1949, she married Carl Henry Zieger. They raised two daughters, Dawn and June, and one son, Paul. Iris loved baking bread, pies and cookies. She loved music and encouraged her children in their musical pursuits. She was known for her kind and compassionate spirit. Iris was preceded in death by her sister, Bonnie, her husband, Carl, and her daughter, Dawn. She is survived by her daughter, June, her son, Paul, and several grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at Chas. J. Burden and Son Funeral Home on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to service.
