Born in Jackson, Michigan, Ron was the eldest son of Duane and Mae Jean Zwick. He overcame a severe childhood illness to ultimately run the family business with his brother Craig. Together they managed a successful truck and trailer equipment shop. He enjoyed swap meets often buying and/or selling several different collectables including vintage motorcycles, American history items, and antique model trains.
He had a huge heart though not everyone was able to see it. He loved his family, his hobbies, and eventually his basset hounds. Several years ago he was asked to temporarily care for his son’s two bassets. He wasn’t thrilled but agreed and blocked off one room in the house for the dogs. Two days later the houndies stole his heart and had full reign of the estate. When it was time for them to go home he simply said no, they’re my girls now. Preceded in death by his father Duane, mother Mae Jean, and daughter Angela Zwick. He is survived by his brother Craig, sister-in-law Margo, niece Melanie, nephews Charles and Christopher, and son Theodore. He and his wife Virginia were taken from us on the same day. Ron was not comfortable with large gatherings and requested long ago that we forgo memorial service for him. Honoring that wish, a private ceremony was held on May 16, 2024.
