Of Jackson, passed away at his home on Monday, February 20, 2024 at the age of 68. He is survived by his son, Christopher (Rachel) Hosler; grandchildren, Trinaty Hosler, Braylon Hosler, Kaitlyn Hosler, Dominick DeLattre, and Damian DeLattre; siblings, Diane Lachota, Debra Baum, Christina (Anthony) Barriere, Peter (Norene) Killingbeck, Catherine (Richard) Hill, Penny (Jerry) Rahl, Paul (Jessica) Killingbeck; the mother of his son, Darlene Wilkerson; as well as nieces, nephews, loving family members, and friends, beloved service dog, Trixy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brother, Charles W. Hosler Jr.
David was born in Flint, Michigan on May 9, 1955 to Charles and Mary Hosler. He graduated from Arenac Eastern High School in Twining, Michigan. He loved playing the guitar, singing, and collecting guitars. In his last 10 years, he became passionate about his Faith and studying the Bible. He proudly served in the Navy for 8 1/2 years and was an avid outdoorsman. After he was medically discharged from the Navy, he received a degree in Restaurant Management from JCC and became a chef. At one point, he won a Bassmaster Fishing Competition in South Carolina. When he wasn't enjoying fishing or hunting trips, he found peace in watching wildlife and spending time with family, friends, and especially his grandchildren. He touched the hearts and lives of many and will be greatly missed. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of his life held at Encounter Church on Saturday March 9, 2024 at 1 PM.
