Brian Stewart Crandall, age 62.5, born June 3, 1961 in Kansas City, MO, son of Max and Ann Crandall. Brian passed December 3, 2023 in Jackson, MI at his home. Although unexpectedly, he passed peacefully in his sleep. Brian always shared a great love for his family, music, and the outdoors. This included his “big move” from Oklahoma to Michigan, as a young adult, with his older brother, Max Crandall and wife Luann to Michigan to farm cauliflower. Over the years he spent a great deal of time in his own gardens growing corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc with his children Cade and Torey, teaching them everything he had learned from his family. Also, Brian loved a bonfire, accompanied by laughs and great music. He found so much peace in nature and music, often as an outlet for him. Additionally, Brian loved bargains and enjoyed yard sales, equally, he appreciated the nostalgia behind every tool or fun antique artifact found and liked to share that with others. Professionally, Brian was an employee for 30 years at Oakland County Drain Commission - Water Resources, as a Right of Way Representative. He enjoyed his work, always provided the best advice to his clients, and developed life long friendships, including his Supervisor, Jeffrey Parrott. Prior to OCDC, he was an employee at Consumers Energy, Jackson, MI as a Right of Way Consultant, under supervision of long time friend, Howard Linnabary. Recently, Brian worked part-time as a Land Man for Dakotah Oil, under long-time colleague and friend, Cliff Abel. Brian was an incredibly dedicated and hardworking individual that poured himself into his work. Survived by his children, Cade Crandall of Chicago, IL and Torey Crandall of Jackson, MI. His ex-wife, Jody Basore-Crandall of Stockbridge, MI. His brother, Max Crandall and wife, Luann, their children/his niece Pam Crandall, and nephew Max (Jamie) Crandall of Redlands, CA. Preceded in Death by his parents, Max and Ann Crandall of Edmond, OK. From his son, Cade, “Dad was hilarious, so kind, and always did everything he could for my sister and I. He never talked poorly of others, genuinely tried to help out his neighbors when he could, and loved deeply. His “Heyyyy Nowwww” texts and calls, random YouTube videos or song bits, and talks about business, real estate, and of course, updates on the dogs, will be missed dearly.” A celebration of Brian's life will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2024 from 1pm to 6pm at Cascades Manor House (1970 Kibby Rd., Jackson, MI 49203).***In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
