Betty Jean Watson (Barnett) of Michigan Center, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 5:24 AM. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Watson; son, Sherman Barnett; sisters, Thelma Weisel, Shirley Weisel and Nancy Weisel and granddaughter, Amy Jo Barnett. She is survived by her children, Shellie Barnett, Gail (Daniel) Aikens, Dianna Barnett, Kenny Barnett (Pam Adamick) and Rachel Barnett; step-children, Cindy (Buffy Taylor) Aikins, Matthew (Lisa) Watson, Vicky (Jim) Blocker and Ginger (Rex) Blakeman; sisters, Phyllis Schroth, Mary Delaney and Jan Adams; grandchildren, Mike Aikins, Sherry Aikins, Jason Gomez, Katrina Minniear, Josh Watson, Allisha Barnett, Amanda Zalas, John Lawson, Tana Payne, Carl Brown Jr., Ariane Duby, Angela Aikens, Doug Hoyt, Sherman Barnett Jr., Joshua Brown, Sandra Barnett, Anthony Brown, Jenna Watson, Cody Blakeman, Emily Blakeman, Javon Parker, Zachary Barnett, Jasmine Barnett, Kobe Barnett and Kristin Barnett; 52 great grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren with another on the way. Betty was a member of Heart O’ the Lakes Church in Brooklyn, Michigan since 1984. She volunteered for church blood drives as well as other events. Betty loved dark chocolate, walking and spending time with her loved ones. She also enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends and taking long car rides exploring nature with Harry. Without exception, she always gave the longest and best hugs. Betty had a beautiful smile that would lighten up the room. Per Betty’s request, there will be no funeral service. A Celebration of Life will be held in October nearing her birthday. “Love you more, loved you longer.” To the world she was our mother, to us she was our world.
