Frances Williamson Roberts, 87, passed away Saturday, March 11. She was born March 26, 1929 to Fred and Bertha Smith Williamson of the Hebron Community. She attended elementary and high school in the Clarke County, Alabama school system. She later attended Livingston University (currently University of West Alabama). She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jackson, Alabama where she served as a Sunday School teacher when her children were young. A dedicated homemaker, she loved cooking, yard work, “tending” her flowers, walking, and sewing. She liked to be busy! In her later life, she enjoyed participating in the many activities at The Brennity of Daphne Assisted Living where she resided since 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents and her oldest daughter, Elaine Roberts Chapman. She is survived by her husband, Glover, of 68 years, and three daughters, Ramona Rhodes (Mike), Birmingham, Brenda Chastain (Robbie), Spanish Fort, and Mandy Wyatt (Steve), Tuscaloosa. Grandchildren include Heather Cowen and Avery Rhodes. Great grandchildren include Willa Rose, Hopper, John Henry, Whit, Walton, Scarlet and a host of extended family along with her Brennity family. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m., Friday, March 17th at Lathan Funeral Home, Jackson, AL. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2 p.m. with burial at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Jackson. Reverend David Hendrix and Bob Wermuth will be officiating at the service. Chris Akins, Robbie Chastain, Eddie Cowen, Woodie Pugh, Mike Rhodes, and Ray Smith will be pallbearers.
