IRMO, SC - A funeral service for William John “Bill” Hawkins, 72, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2022 at Shady Grove United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
Mr. Hawkins died Friday, April 15, 2022. Born in Glen Cove, New York, he was a son of the late John Walter Hawkins and Elizabeth Mitchell Hawkins. He served in the military from 1971 to 1993.
Surviving are his daughter, Tammy Grey (Alan); three grandchildren, Kaleb, Ethan, and Abigail; brothers, Jack Hawkins (Peggy) and James Hawkins (Mindy); sisters, Elizabeth Ball and Nancy Price (Steve); and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Patricia Fletcher Hawkins, stepmother, Linda C. Hawkins, and brother, David P. Hawkins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shady Grove UMC, 1918 Shady Grove Rd, Irmo, SC 29063.
