COLUMBIA - A memorial service for Laura Lynn Spigner, 62, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Laura passed away Thursday, September 1, 2022. Born in Detroit, Michigan, she was a daughter of the late Maurice Joseph DeCooman and Caroline Segar Huber. In 1979, she relocated to South Carolina from Detroit. She retired from Palmetto Health following 22 years of service. Laura owned and operated Preferred Health Education prior to her retirement from Palmetto Health. Teaching was her passion. She was a member of American Nurses Association and Golden Key Honor Club. She was a Christian and loved the Lord.
Surviving are her son, Shawn Ryan Spigner; daughter, Aja Monique Spigner (Hoefer); and sister, Holly Jo Anne (DeCooman) Oseth; grandchildren, Aya Hodeda, Faith Hoefer, Adam Hodeda, Olivia Spigner, Ivy Hoefer.
