John Kenneth “Ken” Hinson, 68, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2020. He was born on August 9, 1951 in Charlotte, NC to the late Robert Blair Hinson and Annie Cartharp Hinson.
Ken was a graduate of UNCC. He was a Branch Manager in Columbia for Century Fasteners Corp where he worked for over 40 years until his retirement in 2019. An avid Gamecock fan, Ken enjoyed tailgating at the USC games with his family and friends. He played golf for many years before becoming an amputee, and loved fishing in Beaufort. Ken was a genuine, brave and honest man with a generous heart. He was also a gregarious soul who would always put a smile on everyone’s face as attested by his numerous friends.
Ken is survived by his cherished daughter, Kelly Hinson and her mother, Joyce Hinson; and beloved girlfriend of many years, Barbara Caraturo. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Blair Hinson.
