COLUMBIA - A celebration of life for Jack Hayden Hubbs, 28, will be held Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, 7600 Woodrow St, Irmo, South Carolina 29063, followed by a gathering of family and friends at 3:00 p.m. Jack passed away Friday, October 7, 2022. Born September 21, 1994 in Columbia, South Carolina, he was a son of Jack Hubbs, Jr. and Sally DiThomas and brother to Jason Hubbs.
Jack joined the National Society of the Children of the American Revolution in 1999 and was a very active member, serving as his local Colonel Thomas Taylor Society, C.A.R. President, several terms as a state chairman and state officer, and was elected the 2010-2011 South Carolina Society President and Honorary State President for life.
Jack’s State President’s Project was “Marking the Trails of Valor,” which raised funds for the historic marker at Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site, which was the site of the first (1670-1671) permanent English settlement in what is now South Carolina.
Jack continued his service to the National Society Children of the American Revolution by serving as national chairman of the Magazine Fund and Auditing committees and was elected National Vice President of the Southeastern Region in 2013. He was a Life Member and National Life Promoter #1631.
He was a beloved member and will be remembered for his outgoing personality and as Jason’s older brother.
Jack was a kind man and a loyal friend who lived his life on his terms. He was a loving son and brother. He liked to hunt and fish and found peace on the river in his kayak. He loved history. He was a member of the Robert Burns Society and enjoyed accompanying his Grandmother and Jason to the Annual Robert Burns Dinner.
