Carol Hall Martin, 73, widow of Ray Martin, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2024. She was born on May 8, 1950, in Richland County, the daughter of the late Dr. Williams S. Hall and Oxena Hall. She attended the University of South Carolina and worked at Devore Dermatology in Spartanburg until her retirement.
Carol's two faithful and loving dogs, Rosie and Simon, were always by her side, bringing her great joy. She was a passionate supporter of the Gamecocks and cheered her team on with great enthusiasm during football season. Carol's top priorities were her sons, grandchildren, and family. She always made time for them no matter what she was going through. Despite battling cancer for over 30 years, Carol always wore a smile on her face, even during the toughest times. She held onto her strong faith and determination through it all. The loss of Carol, known as Mom, Momma C, Mrs. Carol, and Grandmommy, will be difficult for her family. However, they will always remember her constant love, strength, and guidance, which will be a source of comfort for them in the days ahead.
Carol was a member of Fairforest Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC. She is survived by her devoted and loving brother, Richard Hall; her sons, Jason White (Amee) and Jeremy White (Courtney); her grandchildren, Harrison White, Jackson White, and Lincoln White; and her step-granddaughter, Isla Scott. She was preceded in death by her husband and brother, William S. Hall, Jr.
A special thank you to the wonderful caregivers, doctors, and nurses who provided care for her during her illness. Particularly Dr. Sabina Hyder and Dr. Sarah Stice of Prisma Palliative and Hospice for your warmth and compassion.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 1, 2024, at Lake Murray Presbyterian Church in Chapin, SC. The Reverend V. Blaine Hill will be the presiding minister.
